About Me

Red Deer has been home since 2015. The appeal of no traffic jams, a 15 minute drive end-to-end, and a park in every neighbourhood, Red Deer was the perfect fit for my family. We have enjoyed running and biking the local trail system for years and still have not managed to ride every stretch of the 100+ km of trails!

Prior to children, I worked in construction as a labourer, medic, and industrial iron worker. Most recently, I worked in a corrections / social work field for a local non-profit.

I have owned and renovated many homes over the last twenty years. I love the challenge and surprises that come with restoring something back to a beautiful state. By no means an expert, I learn through trial and error and the more I learn, the more I realize, I have so much more to learn!

Since arriving in Red Deer, I have served our community as a Citizen Representative and Vice-Chair of the Community Housing Advisory Board. As a Citizen Representative helping to create the Community Homelessness and Housing Integrated Plan for the City of Red Deer.

I coordinated a Social Justice Committee with efforts supporting local agencies.

I have done grant writing for various non profits and local charities.

I currently serve as the Vice-President of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Red Deer. This charity supports locals in need to secure basic household items and access to groceries. I coordinate a welcoming bag project, delivering basic necessities to CSS.

My education includes a Certificate in Bookkeeping, a Legal Assistant Diploma, various certificates, and undergrad courses in subjects such as Sociology, community policing, and HR.
